American Shepherd’s Pie

Prepared by our Chefs, this American Shepherd’s Pie is made with ground beef, mashed potatoes, and fresh vegetables. It warms the soul all year long!

Although a popular dish here, Shepherd’s Pie didn’t originate in America. Rather it was likely in Ireland where the dish originated. There is no singular person, place, or time when Shepherd’s Pie found its start. Through a widespread culmination of historical events and cultural collisions, the opportunity for this dish to exist came to be. One of the bigger cultural impacts of this history was certain ingredients (such as beef) finding their way to Ireland. Without this introduction to easy access of beef, the Shepherd’s Pie may have never come to existence. And oh what a shame that would have been!
