muffuletta sandwich, loaded with the best charcuterie meats

Muffuletta-ish

Our Muffuletta ingredients: Mortadella, capocollo, salumi Americano, Little Gem lettuce, with a goat cheese, honey & pistachio spread and olive tapenade on ciabatta bread. It’s not traditional, so it’s a Muffulett-ish! We use the best imported Italian meats, along with our very own house-made spread and tapenade.

This sandwich finds its roots in the deep south; all the way in New Orleans, Louisiana to be exact. It was created by Salvatore Lupo – a Sicilian immigrant who came to the USA in the late 1800’s. The sandwich’s names come from the bread used to make it, which is known as “muffuletto”. Lupo noticed many people purchasing these loaves of bread along with ham, salami, cheese, olive spread separately. His idea was to simply put it all together for people to buy premade. And so came the birth of the Muffuletta sandwich!
