Instructions

Blend together the following ingredients:
– 1 onion
– 2 tablespoons minced ginger
– 6 garlic cloves
– 1 cup of ketchup
– 1/2 a cup or dry red wine
– 1/4 cup of soy sauce
– 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
– 1/4 cup of honey
– 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard

Pour the blended mix into a bowl, and whisk in 1.5 cups of Coca Cola and 1/2 cup of olive oil. Pour over your brisket in a roasting pan and cover with foil.

Cook the brisket in the oven fat side up at 250° for approx. 6-8 hours (depending on size of brisket), until the brisket is fork tender. We recommend flipping the brisket once about halfway through the cook.

Once the brisket is fork tender, pull from the oven, remove the foil, and allow to rest for about 20-30 minutes. Slice and serve!

Bear in mind that brisket flat is a lean cut, and is best cooked at a low and slow temperature to an internal temperature of around 200° for tender, juicy brisket. Brisket will also seem to “shrink” when it is cooked, as it loses around 30% of the internal moisture during the cooking process. Remember that brisket makes delicious leftovers and we always recommend calculating about 1/2 a pound of brisket (uncooked) per person.
