Steak Sandwich at Home
Nothing quite like a steak sandwich at home – Sliced prime ribeye, arugula, salsa matcha and melty Oaxaca cheese on a rustic ciabatta!
Thanksgiving is fast approaching! Check out this very simple traditional oven roasted Turkey with a rosemary thyme compound butter. Follow along below for this recipe prepared by @merricks_meat (on Instagram) ⬇️
1. preheat oven to 425° degrees
2. Pat your bird dry and remember to remove the neck and giblets!
3. Stuff your turkey with chopped celery, carrots, onion, and orange wedges.
4. Prepare a compound butter with fresh chopped rosemary and thyme. Plan to use half a stick of butter and about 4 stems of each herb.
5. Rub the turkey down with half of the compound butter. (Save the other half for basting!)
6. Place turkey in a roasting pan, and place in the oven at 425° for 30 minutes.
7. After 30 minutes, lower the oven to 350° and begin basting the turkey with the compound butter every 30 minutes for the rest of the cook.
8. Plan for another 1.5-2.5 hours for the remainder of the cook depending on the weight. Check the turkey breast with a meat thermometer each time you baste with butter.
9. Remove the turkey from the oven when the center of the breast reaches an internal temperature of 163° (the turkey’s internal temperature will continue to rise to 165° during the rest
10. Rest for 30 minutes with loosely tented foil before carving!
